TURN THE SOUND ON!

Here's a fun and easy science experiment you can do at home.

  1. Grab a glass of highly carbonated water.

  2. Drop in some raisins (dried, not fresh!) and watch the magic begin!

What’s happening?

The carbon dioxide bubbles cling to the rough surface of the raisins, reducing their density by increasing their volume without changing their mass, which makes them float to the surface. Once they reach the top, the bubbles pop, causing the raisins to sink again. This process repeats, creating a mesmerizing dance!

Perfect for teaching kids about buoyancy and gas behavior—or just for a quirky science party trick!
